Natural Skincare Products are Better for Your Skin

Published by admin on May 16, 2010

When looking for a skin care cream, many consumers are turning to natural skincare products to reduce the lines and wrinkles on their skin. This is all part of the entire ‘green’ shift going on in the world today. No longer do people want to apply drugs or synthetic products to their skin.

Natural skincare products are obviously much better for your skin. However, just because a product claims to contain natural ingredients does not mean that it is a good product. There are cosmetic companies that will do anything just to sell their inferior product. Even claiming that it is the best natural skincare cream available! Now science is not a bad thing either. Science can come up with a way to combine natural ingredients without the use of chemicals.

It is important to avoid products that contain fragrances or parabens. These are harmful to your skin and should not be applied to your skin at all. Keep this in mind; whatever you apply to your skin could be absorbed directly into your bloodstream.

Some small skin care companies around the world are doing some amazing research and development with natural substances for their natural skincare products. This is exactly what you want; a product that contains natural ingredients that actually work at reducing the lines and wrinkles on your skin.

One of these natural substances is phytessence wakame. It is derived from a type of Japanese sea kelp. In fact, the Japanese even use it in their diet. Some of the benefits to the skin include the reduction of lines and wrinkles. It acts as an antioxidant as well, which means it reverses the skin cell damage caused by free radicals.

Another natural substance that is found in the best natural skincare products in the world is Cynergy TK.

On my website, I have more information available on natural ingredients used in natural skincare products that actually work.

What is Japanese Skincare?

Published by admin on May 12, 2010

People in the Western world are interested in Japanese skincare because of the belief that people in Japan appear to age gracefully. By emulating some of their skin care habits, we can also experience the same results with our skin. There is no magic cream being used, just good sound natural skincare products.

The Japanese lifestyle is quite a bit different from the lifestyle of a typical Westerner. They appear to eat much better than we do and often they live in a communal atmosphere with lots of interaction between friends and family. Most of them also appear to have smooth healthy skin. So, what is Japanese skincare all about?

Another to note is that their diet is rich in seafood, which contains Omega 3 fatty acids. As you are probably aware, Omega 3 is good for the skin. What else do they do as part of the Japanese skincare program?

One of the main secrets they employ is that they use natural ingredients in their skincare program. One of the substances they use is called Phytessence Wakame. It is derived from a specific type of Japanese sea kelp. In fact, they even eat this type of seaweed as well. It contains powerful antioxidants used to fight the damage caused by free radicals.

Other benefits of this natural substance include being able to help reduce inflammation of the skin, which could cause premature aging in the skin. Phytessence Wakame will protect the hyaluronic acid in the skin from being broken down. This natural acid in the skin works at keeping your skin firm, smooth and moist.

You will not find many if any of the major cosmetic companies using this natural substance in their skin care creams. However, some small companies around the world do use it. One of them is located in New Zealand and their products are available on the internet, although they are not available in stores.

This is not the only natural ingredient used in Japanese skincare. I cover other natural substances in detail on my website.

Men Anti-aging Skincare – are You a Wuss for Caring About It?

Published by admin on May 10, 2010

Maybe 50 years ago you would have been called “girly” for being interested in men anti-aging skincare. However, going to a gym and exercising was unheard of back then too.

Times have changed. Men’s awareness has changed too.

Sure, men don’t get desperate and hysterical about aging like women do. Actually, most men get more handsome as they get older. A few wrinkles and lines on a man’s face make him look manly and distinguished.

But that’s no excuse to be careless about men’s skincare health. Caring about how your skin looks doesn’t make you less masculine. In the past, society expected men to grow older in silence. But now, manufacturers design product lines exclusively for men.

For a man who’s interested in trying a skincare product, I recommend looking for a facial cream. Hold off on the body lotions for now. Unlike your body, your face is always exposed to the world. You can’t hide it. That’s why it’s particularly important to keep face skin firm and radiant.

Men especially suffer from inflammation and redness of the face. Many men work outside and get frequent sunburns and windburns. And in the winter, men’s skin can become very dry from long hours in the cold.

Another area of concern is under the eyes. Men with demanding, high-stress jobs develop bags wrinkles, and lines. Couple a career with being a family man and it adds up to too little sleep and dark circles under the eyes.

Men anti-aging skincare products come in all kinds. Just like women’s products, a lot of them contain harmful ingredients. As a newbie consumer of men’s skincare cream, be careful.

One ingredient to avoid is called mineral oil. It’s touted as a moisturizer, but what it actually does is coat skin and clog pores. This prevents skin from “breathing”; it also makes it harder for skin to eliminate toxins.

On the label, mineral oil also goes by the name: liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum.

On the other hand, one of the best ingredients for men is witch hazel. It soothes skin by reducing inflammation and redness. It’s also beneficial in healing shaving cuts and sunburn.
Witch hazel is essential to any men’s skincare cream.

To answer the question in the title of this article…NO, you’re not a wuss for caring about your skin. You’re smart. A smart man looks for ways to improve himself and his lifestyle.

Visit my site to learn about other ingredients, good and bad, in men anti-aging skincare.

How to Choose Quality Men’s Skincare Products

Published by admin on May 8, 2010

Currently, men are more open about their looks. Skin care companies are aggressively marketing men’s skincare products. There are quality products available on the market. You just have to know where to find them. In a way it is similar to taking supplements, it is just another way to look after your body.

Not all men’s skincare products are created equal. Many products marketed today are worthless. The trick is you need to find a skin care cream that actually does what it advertises it will do.

A quality men’s skincare product will help reduce the lines and wrinkles associated with aging skin. The reason why you develop lines and wrinkles when your skin ages is because your skin stop producing as much vital proteins as it did when you were younger.

The two proteins that your skin loses during the aging process are collagen and elastin. These proteins are responsible for smoothness, firmness and elasticity. The loss of production of these proteins affects both men and women. Quality men’s skincare products should contain natural ingredients that help your body naturally produce more collagen and elastin.

You may have heard that some products claim to contain collagen or elastin. Well these products are claiming that you can apply these proteins to your skin. These men’s skincare products are worthless. Applying collagen or elastin to your skin does not do anything. The collagen and elastin molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin. It just will not happen; therefore applying these proteins to your skin is pointless.

Now, in order to reduce the lines and wrinkles on your skin, you need a men’s skincare product that will help boost the production of these proteins on your skin. There are skin creams available that contain natural substances that will actually boost your production of collagen and elastin.

These natural substances are quite amazing and they have been tested on volunteers. These volunteers report that their lines and wrinkles have reduced within less than a month of using the men’s skincare products.

Most of these natural ingredients are not available in stores in North America. However, they are available online from a skin care company located in New Zealand. I cover these natural ingredients in detail on my website.

Japanese Skincare – 3 Super Secrets Revealed

Published by admin on May 5, 2010

Are Japanese skincare products the best?  Certainly some japanese skincare ingredients are. Their secrets our now out in the open.  But, only a few companies were paying attention.  Skincare company I discovered certainly took notice and now use the ingredients.  More about that at the end of this article.  First the secrets.

The Japanese have the longest average life span in the world.  More than 30,000 Japanese people are over 100 years of age.  Take some examples from the population and do a few things that may help you live longer and look better.

Japanese Skincare Secret #1

Protect your face from the sun.  This “secret” is not limited to the Japanese population.  Native peoples from all over the world have found fruits and vegetables that could be ground into butter or expressed for their oils.

These plant compresses have been used to heal sunburns, as well as provide protection against burning.  Researchers have evaluated the natural chemical compounds in these plants and shown that they DO, in fact, provide some natural protection from UV rays of sunlight.

For example, a component of Wakame kelp (a favorite food in Japan) contains something called “sulfated polyfucose”.  The compound protects the skin from UV ray and environmental pollutants that increase the production of free radicals. Free radicals cause of wrinkles, sagging and skin-cancer.

Japanese Skincare Secret #2

Eat right!  What does eating right have to do with you appearance?  Everything that you eat basically “shows up” on your face.  But, it’s not just about your skin; it’s about your overall health.

The world’s oldest man (who lives in Japan, by the way) was recently interviewed about his diet.  He said that he loves to eat.  His favorite foods were vegetables and shrimp.  We could learn a lesson from this man.

Many doctors believe that this type of diet will increase your longevity.  Some of them also believe it will protect your skin from aging.  One doctor has a so-called anti-wrinkle diet.  Whether or not it actually removes wrinkles or not, I can’t say, but I can tell you that antioxidant-rich foods (fruits, vegetables and seafood) prevent and repair free radical damage.  They are like the body’s construction workers.  Skincare ingrediednts should be ’safe enough to eat’.
.
Japanese Skincare Secret #3

I would have to say that Wakame Kelp is the number one beauty secret that comes to us from Japan.  The kelp is rich in minerals and vitamins, but it plays another role on the skin’s surface.

Cream containing extracts from the wakame kelp have been shown in laboratory studies to increase levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin.  An amino acid protein, hyaluronic acid is responsible for the skin’s elasticity and smoothness.  It gives “tone”.

You will see many firming lotions on the market that include hyaluronic acid, but not many that contain wakame.  Applying hyaluronic acid to the skin is only so effective because of an enzymatic reaction that quickly breaks the protein down.

The kelp extract blocks that enzymatic reaction, so levels of hyaluronic acid naturally rise.  A 52% reduction in the enzymatic reaction has been seen in as little as five days of use.
That’s all of the Japanese skincare secrets that I have for today. Look for more information references in the resource box.  Look for “Phytessence” Wakame.  It’s a new product.

What Is Genuine Organic Skincare?

Published by admin on May 3, 2010

There are many wonderful, holistic reasons for choosing organic skincare products. The reasons range from wanting to reduce the number of chemicals on your skin, for your health, skin sensitivity or just based on personal principals.

The problem facing most consumers wanting to purchase genuine organic skincare products, rather than those making “organic” claims, is that a standard for the certification and labelling of organic skincare products is not available.

Currently in Australia, the only organic certification available for skin care products is a general food standard. This requires 95% of all ingredients, other than the water component, to be organically certified. Water generally makes up to 70% of total ingredients in many skincare creams. Therefore 95% of the remaining 30% of ingredients need to be organically certified.

Only a few Australian products have been certified to these very strict and sometimes impractical rules for food standards. It has been argued by some manufacturers, that to achieve the 95% certified rating is counter productive to producing an effective skin product.

Currently unrecognised are many skincare products with over 50% organic ingredients which cannot be certified, even though they have been manufactured by passionate organic supporters to the highest organic and natural principles.

Essentially, to make a cream for skin, there are two main components (oil and water) which need to be blended. A synthetic emulsifier is used to blend the oil and water components. Emulsifiers can make up to 20% of an ingredient mix other than water. Hence the catch 22, to make a cream which really penetrates and moisturises the deep layers of the skin with beautiful organic vegetable and essential oils, you need a synthetic emulsifier. Purestuf uses an emulsifier created from olive oil which is synthesised to form the emulsifier.

The cream also requires a preservative, so that it will not go mouldy in your bathroom cabinet. This is one area which really distinguishes skincare products. The organically passionate manufacturers use natural preservatives like grapefruit seed extract whereas other manufacturers add chemical preservatives containing parabens and other nasties to their products.

Organic skincare products produced and sold with integrity by the passionate manufacturers aim to be free from chemicals such as parabens, formaldehyde, petrochemicals etc. and made from as many natural and certified organic ingredients as possible.

Australian (and most overseas) manufacturers are not compelled to disclose the percentage of organic ingredients in their products. The word organic is not protected by any law about its use in terms of marketing claims. Often these other so called organic products, contain a very low percentage of organic ingredients and have many chemical additives, which are not good for you or your skin.

So what is being done to eliminate the confusion?

A group of leading Australian skincare product manufacturers (including Purestuf Natural Skincare) are currently working together to formulate a standard which can be certified by any one of the 7 Australian organic certifiers.

Until then – read labels and look for products which don’t include parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates, fragrances and clearly list the organic ingredients such as essential oils, vegetable oils.

For the time being, for consumers it is a matter of instinct, trust and reading the labels.

Hidden Secrets of Natural Skincare Can Work Wonders for Your Skin!

Published by admin on May 1, 2010

There are many people who think that natural skincare products cannot be scientific. But they are missing out on one important thing that the benefits of both science and nature can be rolled into one as science can complement nature.

In nutritional and herbal products of natural skincare, you are not eating the plant as a whole unit. You are just taking an extract of the herb. And this extract is very potent and effective. This is an example of science complementing nature in natural skincare, as processing brings out the best of both worlds.

And it is also true that there is atleast some amount of processing that takes place, so natural skincare products cannot be called 100% natural, even if all of the ingredients are totally natural.

We can see that the effectiveness of natural skincare products can be highly enhanced by this natural processing.

Natural Skincare Substances with Amazing Qualities

We will take a look at some ingredients of natural skincare that can work wonders for you-

One of the best natural skincare substances is Cynergy TK. It is produced in New Zealand. A company has discovered a breakthrough process by which Cynergy TK, which is rich in vital skin protein called Keratin, has been made readily absorbable by human skin.

It has been described as good as applying “liquid skin” due to its amazing results on volunteers in clinical trials-

·    It enhances the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. This give us natural skincare as collagen and elastin are the proteins responsible for keeping our skin firm, supple and elastic.
·    It improves skin elasticity and skin moisture retention.
·    It leads to regrowth of new skin cells!

Another one of them is Phytessence Wakame. It is an extract of a special type of Japanese sea kelp. It is a part of natural skincare products that I personally use.

Phytessence Wakame has shown various amazing anti aging properties-

·    It works as a powerful antioxidant. It kills the free radicals in your skin before they do any damage to the skin. Antioxidants are an indispensable component of any natural skincare system.
·    It heals dry skin and impoves skin elasticity.
·    It blocks the activity of the dreaded enzyme Hyaluronidase. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down hyaluronic acid in the skin. And we do not want this to happen, as hyaluronic acid works with the two most important skin proteins called collagen and elastin to keep our skin soft, supple and elastic.

I have done an exhaustive research in my website on such natural skincare substances that play an effective and scientifically proven role in giving firm, soft, supple and young skin by enhancing the collagen and elastin production in our body itself.

The key to hidden secrets in natural skincare is to lookout for such natural skincare ingredients that have proven themselves very effective in anti aging in scientific studies. That is what separates the ordinary skin care anti aging products from the natural skincare products that work wonders for your skin.

The Truth About Men’s Skincare

Published by admin on April 29, 2010

Cosmetic companies seem to think that men’s skincare products can be just like women’s, as long as they have a “manly” fragrance.  There are some basic differences between a man’s face and a woman’s.  These differences need to be taken into consideration when creating men anti-aging skincare products.  Otherwise, they just won’t be effective and could eventually make your skin look worse.

Even if you are a young man, you want to use men’s skincare solutions that delay the signs of aging.  It’s just the safest and healthiest thing that you can do, as long as you know which ingredients to look for and which to avoid.  If you keep reading, that’s what you’ll learn.

Just for Men Anti-aging Skincare Ingredients:

I call them “just for men anti-aging skincare ingredients”, because they address the issues of redness and inflammation.  Those are two problems that most guys have, particularly those that shave.  If you’re a young man, you might not “see” it, but it is a problem.

Not only does chronic inflammation, which is largely due to shaving, negatively affect your appearance, it can also affect the skin’s long-term health.  Researchers now believe that chronic inflammation plays a major role in the development of cancerous cells.

So, men’s skincare creams that contain natural anti-inflammatories may also help prevent skin cancer.  If you also strive to use cleansers and shaving lubricants that contain safe and natural ingredients, then you’ll look better today and in the future.

Using a just for men anti-aging skincare cream every day, after you shave, instead of the alcohol-based aftershaves that most guys use, is an important step.  The ingredients to look for include witch hazel and capuacu butter.

Witch hazel was once the most popular solution for aftershaves, but petroleum-based alcohols are cheaper and basically took over the market.  Witch hazel is a plant-derived astringent that has natural antibacterial and antioxidant activity.  It has been recommended for psoriasis, eczema, blisters, cracked skin, insect bites, poison ivy and cold sores.

Capuacu butter comes from a fruit, native to South America.  It helps to heal razor and sunburns, contains essential fatty acids that are needed to replenish the skin’s moisture content.

Ingredients that Men’s Skincare Products Should Not Contain:

The biggest problem with petroleum based alcohols is that they strip the skin of its natural moisture, causing excessive dryness and making the skin’s cells more easily damaged.  They also increase redness and irritation.  Plant-based alcohols are a better choice, but most companies don’t use them, because they cost more.

You don’t need or want artificial preservatives in a men anti-aging skincare cream.  Natural vitamin E is an effective preservative and an important antioxidant that prevents the appearance of age spots and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Again, companies don’t use it, because it costs more than artificial preservatives.  Added fragrances are also unnecessary and a common cause of allergic reactions.

There is a new line of men’s skincare creams that are safe and effective.  That’s what you need to look for. Visit my website today to learn more about the natural substances that are designed to keep men’s skin looking healthy and young.

Holistic Skincare – Beauty on the Outside Begins Inside

Published by admin on April 27, 2010

Holistic skincare is a rare approach to beauty.  Finding 100% pure skincare products is next to impossible. The major cosmetic companies care little about purity and nothing about the body’s whole health.  They mostly care about their bottom lines.

But, you have more choices than you did at one time.  There are new companies entering the scene and some of them have the right idea.  They know how to care for the skin and its health.

Nutritional Factors

100% pure skincare creams and lotions are only one part of the picture.  If you truly want holistic skincare, there are a number of other factors to consider.  Nutrition is a big one.

A diet that consists primarily of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with fish and seafood, will not only improve the way that you look, but also the way that you feel.  This is a high energy diet.  It provides all of your necessary nutrients, without a lot of added fat.

Our society tends to eat too many processed foods and our skin pays the price.  Blemishes, pimples, dark circles and the like are caused, at least in part, by too many toxins and too much animal fat in the foods that we eat.  So, give fresh foods, along with purified water, a try for a while and see how much your complexion improves.

Environmental Factors

To continue with your holistic skincare program, you must consider a few environmental factors.  Smoke and the sun play a major role in aging the skin.  Some of your health and beauty aids can cause problems, too.

100% pure skincare solutions would contain no artificial preservatives, fragrances or colors.  They would not contain toxins are hazardous chemicals.  But, most hair and skin care products contain large amounts of all of these things.  They also contribute to skin problems.

Free Radicals & Antioxidants

Although we haven’t always known it, holistic skincare has always been about fighting free radical damage.  The environmental and nutritional factors mentioned above revolve around free radical damage and countering antioxidants.

In my opinion, 100% pure skincare creams should contain antioxidants that we can apply directly to our skin.  See resource box. At least one company agrees with me.

A Complete Product

The epidermis has no blood vessels and most get it’s nourishment from the next layer down.  But we can also “feed” our faces, with the right cream.  For holistic skincare, a complete product should contain coenzyme Q10, vitamin E and B5.  Essential fatty acids from sources like grape seed oil.  Vitamin A from plant sources like kelp and the Shea nut.

If you don’t give your skin everything that it needs, in the way of nourishment, you’ll look older, sooner.  Remember to protect yourself from the sun, when you are outside for extended periods of time, but don’t use the common sunscreens.  They are mostly ineffective and some of them can be deadly.  Zinc oxide broad spectrum sun block is the best choice.

There’s much more that I could tell you (and will in my newsletter) about new ideas and 100% pure skincare products, but that should be enough to get you started in the right direction.

To summarize:  I strongly recommend the holistic skincare method.  It simply means to eat properly, drink purified water, take a good vitamin/mineral supplement and use safe skin care products. (Stay out of big stores). I found one company in all my searching that has a superior supplement line and an excellent skin care line.

Searching for the Ultimate Antiaging Skincare Product

Published by admin on April 25, 2010

It may seem unbelievable but in my search for the secret to the best antiaging skincare product, I found my self traveling to many interesting and mysterious places. I visited the cool crisp mountains of the Swiss Alps, the hot, beautiful african jungles and the ancient, rich ungerground domains of some of the most secret Egyptian tombs. At the end of my search I was surprised with what I had learned and realised that I had learned far more than which antiaging skincare product to look for.

The Power of Tea

I discovered many things but one thing that kept coming up all around the world was the claim that a high quality green tea product was one answer to my search for an antiaging skincare product. Tea is an ancient drink that has been used for centuries and many of us know and love tea in various forms. Green Tea is considered by many to be a health food because it has so many benefits one of which is the properties that help with detoxification. Many claim that green tea helps with anti aging, helps protect against cancer, helps to prevent heart disease, gum disease, and even has been said to help with the weight loss battle as well.

Back To Antiaging Skincare Product

To get a little technical for a moment, we need to discuss what is in the tea that helps the antiaging process. Tea conatains polyphenols that do a significant amount of work. These polyphenols effectively fight against the signs of aging by keeping our bodies healthy inside. These are known as catechins. There are many different catechins in tea and it is these catechins that perform the bulk of the effects.

Why green tea?

Green tea has almost twenty times the amount of catechins in it that black tea has. Green tea elevates the antioxidant effects of your skin, cells and even blood by allowing it to fight the devastating aging that is caused constantly by the effect of oxygen on the body cells. This means that the higher the level of polyphenols in a product that you have working for you, the greater the anti aging effect on your skin. It may sound like an an unusual method in terms of your skin care routine, especially when we live in a world filled with expensive lotions and creams, but it is exciting to think that it is possible that, maybe, the best antiaging skin care product out there could be something you could just drink. Of course a really important point to remember is that while you are taking care of your skincare needs you will also be benefitting your body because the green tea will not only help your skin but all the cells of your body. It seems that it is becoming widely accepted that green teas actually do help us with our skin care and our search for having young looking skin.

Information Is The Best

As I searched for information on I realised that the search became almost as important, if not more important than the search for the ultimate antiaging skincare product. In my search around this varied world, I became amazed with the quantity of information that is available about the skin already and I came to realize that we should be using that information to our advantage first and leave the search for the ulitmate skin cream until last. While we must always take care of the surface of our skin, we must remember that it is a living organ and if we can have an effect at the cellular level where the skin is formed then we will be much more effective in our fight against antiaging. It may turn out that our best weapon to fight the signs of aging could just turn turn out to be education. Now that is a thought!
